Oh sure they have nice trucks,...that's because they pay the drivers in the 1970' early 80's wages,.I have 600,000+ miles and I was getting .22 a mile I made $14,000 in 11 months,...and I was a Trainer!! Horrible company all they care about is the $$$ you will make them! I had 2 trucks and both of them had over 400,000 mile The first one I got,.I can understand because I just started with them but the other one I got it when I was Training.

I can agree with TurboTrucker. I am part of a Team and we were given a dirty truck. Dirty beyond belief. All of the other truckers belongings were in the truck. Before that my trainer was an #@s@ole also. Mean and surly. Didnt want to answer questions and went to sleep while I was driving. My first truck broke down and stayed broken for three days during which time we were unable to drive/make money.

A kid who just learned to ride a bike without the aid of training wheels still fresh in their memory who can communicate at the same level as the kid still depending on training wheels has been known to be a successful combination.

    Could you refresh my memory?
I went beck a few pages but didn't see a post by TurboTrucker.
What became of the other driver's property?
What did you learn from that?
Do you recall what, exactly, was "broken"?
    Was it repaired properly?
Did that Big truck continue to have mechanical problems?
If so, was it the same problem?

Some Big trucks are known to be lemons, and some drivers of Big trucks
are known to squeeze the life outta Big trucks, turning 'em into
    sour lemons in short order.
    Big truck gets the blame.
Squeezer gets a new Big truck.
    And the process begins again.

I'm not suggesting that's the case here, just something
    to consider.

All that aside, welcome to the forums, Johnny.
    Glad you found us.
    Have fun.

I have no personal experience with Werner. My optimism to return to trucking is so intense I read the first 30 pages of this thread (2005-2008) thinking "it can't be really that bad at Werner". The statements passed the truth test for me. Reading the experiences reminded me of my worst times at Navajo Express (1995-1996). The difference was that I got miles back then even though they were systematically and arrogantly destroying my life and my family in friends not in trucking could not believe my stories. To this day some of those people (except my dad who knew how bad things could get in life) think the stories were the product of a borderline personality disorder. Werner sounds like the worst nightmare in trucking ever deliberately engineered. It shows you how a so called
legal corporation can act worse than a criminal organization. An enemy of Werner is a friend of mine. I will go haunt the Schneider threads now.

Thanks for saving me from hell as I was going to apply.

    Barnzy:

I have five years trucking experience among other things (like being an IT professional) and this entire thread of five years is devoted to saving people from the nightmare of Werner. Run! I have no personal experience with them but the stories told here are very compelling even to someone who has been hauled into court by the legal hyenas of the world's largest software company (no boy scouts). If you sign up for Werner you are destroying your career and your mental health. They
sound like the worst scum on earth since Navajo Express. The pathology described there is beyond even my abilities to remedy with world class social engineering and technical means.

They told you a week or so? You have to get 350 hours behind the wheel before testing out.Figure on sharing that truck at least 2 months if not more;and you will sleep while your trainer drives;don't worry you will be tired enough after driving 11 hours. It could even be 3 months figure breakdown time, home time for your trainer, waiting on loads, shippers recievers etc.
