Sounds like this guy runs JUNK. Your necks on the line if caught for HOS infractions.

And after the FIRST " SORRY YOUR CARDS NO GOOD " and the not being able to get in touch with anyone for the 2nd FUEL stop you better look long and hard , is working for this guy worth it.

Running illegal, watching every pair of lights at night coming up behind you, hoping they do not start flashing... It keeps the adrenaline running, eh?

Just yesterday I realized after a half hour driving that I had not filled out the inspection section of my log. I did the pre-trip, just didn't do the paperwork...

So I pulled in the next rest stop, told the trainer "he" had to pee, It took me 30 seconds to get out of the truck, for some reason.. hehehehehee. Don't tell him.

Boy - you hit that one right on the head. And my biggest problem was that when I stopped when I was out of hours briefly to "cook my books" I noticed that the shipper TIME STAMPED the #### bill of lading so no way around that one either.

Being new, I am nervous as is and over cautious - being that I knew I was out of hours and HAD to drive to make my dock appointment, I was a nervous wreck.

It's amazing what a 12 pack of beer when I got home was able to do.....

You know, I really do - but just talking about my first trip gives me the jitters still.

So dispatch called me today to see if I wanted to do another short run, I said no thanks I am off until Sunday night/ Monday morning.

But then I thought about it more and asked, "did you guys read my post trip notes at all ? Are you going to fix the truck ?"

Here is everything I put down on the paper for them to fix.......

    1) Window missing on drivers side cab top bunk
    2) Side repeater not working (wire snapped when spoiler blew off truck)
    3) Passenger side fuel tank cap missing
    4) Fifth wheel plate dry, needs slick bags
    5) spoilers broken off
    6) air dam broken off
    7) Drivers side trailer tires bald, uneven wear, and blistering, need replacing
    8) Glad hand grommets dry rotted, need replacing

I mean, did they even READ it ? When I got into the truck and did my pre trip I noticed all of the above and also that the oil was LOW. Being my first solo run, its not like I had excessive amounts of money on me to buy stuff for THEIR truck and wait 3 weeks for reimbursement, but the oil I did buy right away and put a gallon in.

I can pop some grommets in the glad hands, and toss 2 slick bags on my fifth wheel, but they need to do something about those trailer tires and fuel cap before I make another run in that truck.

If they dont fix the side repeater or window or other stuff, I will make the run but if I get DOT'D and a ticket for that stuff its going to be THEIR ticket because they were notified of the problems ahead of time.

The only thing I will say about this company is that they have no problem working around my schedule and my demands for excessive weekend hometime with my wedding coming up in 3 weeks. After my wedding April 30th we are going to the Florida Keys for 10 days, so they really are cool to work around me like this, which is why I want to try and stick it out and hopefully make this work.
