My first solo run horror story.......

You declined to answer the questions in your profile as to whether or not you are a driver and, if so, for how long, so I have no idea whether or not you have been there. Many of us have and it's a whole different world when you are faced with it.
Nevermind, it is tough to explain to someone who's not been there and is above reproach.
Maybe he shouldn't have done what he did, but he did it and he made it through it okay.

Let me add this: Now that he's experienced it, he knows what to look for and has a better idea of what not to do in the future.

 

Does not the fact that I know the ends and outs of what you speak not tell you that Im a driver.And yes Ive been there,and not above reproach.Have I scorched the books,no.Nothing justifies that ever.No freight is worth a drivers career or the publics safety period.That shouldnt even be a matter of discussion to a I.E. professional driver.And you are correct.Perhaps his having been through this has taught him some things.Lets hope so.Hopefully he can find a company that doesnt even consider putting a driver in this type of situation.

 

Nope, nothing that you have said on here convinces me that you're a driver. We have lots of folks that "know the ends and outs" that aren't necessarily drivers. I've hauled uranium, but that doesn't make me a nuclear physicist.
As for finding a company that doesn't consider putting a driver in this situation (running over on hours): good luck. Most all of them will at least try, at one time or another. It's up to the driver to keep him/herself out of trouble.

 

LMAO! Professional drivers wear collared polo style shirts with the company logo on the chest, drive trucks that max out at 62mph, and take 48 hours to drive 1000 miles!

 

I quess we can all agree to disagree,lol.And yes Im a driver,and yes you are right on the fgact he has to police himself.Lets hope he does so in the future.Lets wish him luck.Arent these forums great.LOL.And your right,mine has tried,never again after I shot it down.

 

Hours of service regulations are a joke period.

 

The driver would be listed as "covered" on the company's insurance.

Just a word mix up. "Insurance in my name", compared to "my name on the insurance".

No he would not be ,FLEET insurance does not LIST the individual driving the vehicle , think of the $ associated with updating on a daily basis with the driver turnover most fleets go through.
