"No professional driver cooks the books, period." Really, are you living in "fantasyland", or what ?

It is worse to abandon ship, than to do the run. Really looks bad when you just walk away from a job, while on the road. I had to drive a truck, many years ago, where the guy had to wear a diaper, and it broke, #### all over the seat. I had to do the run, I put cardboard over the seat. I almost refused to drive the truck.

i think i would have swapped seat bottoms--but in a pinch card board would work i guess

i think that if somebody has the nads to say that no professional driver cooks the books -well kinda think they dont have a lot of miles beyond sitting in the seat and making engine sounds and playing with the shiney switches--hope you didnt get spit on the windshield

I don't know, I've seen trucks JUST like that at my last company... went through a couple before I picked one that was clean, not filled with porn DVDs and mini-magazines, and who knows what else.. Tthe condition of those trucks that he described didn't surprise me in the least.

Right, because this guy must have people just begging him for a job. I don't blame you for finishing that run, but what the hell are you thinking going back for more? This 'company' is everything that is wrong in the industry. Unless of course you did a whole lot of embellishing.

Alright, I'm not gonna harp on what you did wrong... you already know that. I am impressed that you stuck through it all.

This is exactly the kind of crap that so many of us "old guys" went thru back in "the day". It was almost a given for new guys back then. In fact, this kind of stuff was considered "normal" more often than not. Welcome to our world.... and now maybe you understand a bit why we tend to get annoyed by those who whine because they don't have an automatic trans, etc in their first truck.

It sucks that these outfits are still around and making it harder on the rest of us. These are exactly who all the new regs are aimed at. The rest of us are merely "collateral damage".
