My name is Tim and I've been trying to get back into trucking since 2008. Between C.R. England & J B Hunt, I have over 1+ years of documented experience ( I have been driving trucks for 20+ years undocumented). My Dac Report has on it:
1 preventable in 2006 ( in which is questionable)
1 non preventable in 2007
1 dropped trailer in 2008
CR England put on my Dac "Unsafe Driver" in which my Dac & driving record does not reflect that statement and I cannot get it remove. That statement is keeping me from being hire by good companies. Is there any companies you know of that does not subcribe to Dac and if I become and owner operator and maybe with my own authority, would my Dac Report become a factor?
I have no criminal record, no license subspended, no dwi, no reckless driving on my driving record.
Please give me your best advise to help me get back on the road. I truly appreicate anything that you can advise me to do. Thank you very much.
P.S. I also drove tankers at Laguardia Airport in New York City for 5 months.
Please Give Advise

With the 3 incidents; lack of recent, and not much stick time, bad dac you are going to have a very hard time finding a decent gig. What you are liable to find is a company that will make your situation worse by running junk equipment and expecting you to make it happen. Companies like that will help tarnish your already tainted record.

Only if you read it to yourself, so whatever you do... DON'T DO THAT!

If the insurance company checks it .

As an O/O this will only matter if these items are also on your safety score (CSA/Safestat). But not on the level that you are having trouble now. I am not sure how many brokers check this as I have a clean record and don't get questions.
Insurance will be rough. You are likely going to need to focus on a more local company that will limit distance you can drive.coach1249 Thanks this. -
I have never heard of an insurance company checking your DAC. They will check your MVR, credit history, and probably your CSA score, if you get your authority. They may also ask about your experience.

If you do have a bad record like that, and you worked at two companies in one year. If and when you do get a job, you better do 2 or 3 years at least, no matter how much you hate or how bad it is, with no issues. So just be careful, bide your time and then you can move on in the future.
