I've tried searching the site here and googling but haven't dug deep enough to find what I'm looking for.

I heard from a friend that California as of Sept(ish) of this year will not allow trucks 06 and older into the state. The source is a good friend and trustworthy, I'm just not sure the Info that he heard was the best.

Anyone have links to news of this, or know for a fact this is happening either in Sept of this year or in the coming time? I know CA is a pain on regs in general and even worse for idiling , but this was news to me.

    Thanks for any info/help.

Only thing I know about years old etc--is reefer regulations--age of unit--but can be updated to comply--
    and the new(but on hold--court order I believe)Port of Los Angeles--truck restrictions
But there are quite a few California based drivers on here--who may have more info

Hopefully some of the CA guys will jump in. It seemed totally outlandish for that to actually be able to happen, but I wouldn't put ANYTHING past CA or NY/NJ at this point! I just can't seem them regulating that much of the revenue that hauls in/out/through that state like that. I was told trucks 06 and older would be turned away at the checkpoints on the inbound after sept 1 of this year.

I'm about to go back to coast to coast skate boardin and was wondering cuz my truck is a 00, great shape, just not "new".

    Redd,

Thanks for that info. Seems that I'm good to 2014 and after that I'll need to upgrade! I'm assuming none of that info is currently citiable being that its marked "under review"?

ps- I wouldn't go as far as calling him an idiot....like I said, he's a good guy and honest, but I did feel he had received the wrong info to start with. It does seem that CA is starting to weed out older trucks/motors. I'm sure at some point we all will be governed for exhaust/idiling and speed, but that is years to come.

Any truck year enforcement will happen at the ports first. I'm not completely up on the latest, but I believe as of now, there is some restrictions in place (at the ports). It's very easy to monitor older thrucks that have to pass thru a gate, right ? OTR (inbound) isn't suppose to happen for a few years.

If this was true there would be alot of antique owners that would not have antiques anymore.

No need to call the guy's friend an idiot - reactions like that on this forum get really old, and remind me of 7th grade gym, with the rednecks talking uneducated smack. Just continuously perpetuating the trucker stereotype.

And anyone who hears second hand information & passes it along thinking it is truth is an idiot....

It's not that hard to find the regulations.
