I use Efax not too expensive and faxes go right to your email all you need is a printer in your truck and the ability to get your email. I use a cannon all in one printer then I can scan what needs to be faxed and send it with Efax. I do quite a bit of osod and get lots of permits for as many as twelve trucks at a time some of these are ten plus pages so it is quite a money saver at 30 bucks a month.

You need to buy an all in one fax/copier/printer. You will also need to subscribe to one of the internet fax services such as Myfax or Efax. It will cost about $10/month. Faxes will be sent and received via your email. You can buy an all in one printer for about $100 or less. At the rate these truck stops charge for a fax, it doesn't take but a couple of faxes to get your money back.

I don't think you can make a fax machine work through a mobile phone. I have a free application on my computer called "e-Fax" that lets me receive faxes as e-mails. I think they have an application you can purchase that lets you send them the same way. If you had a scanner connected to your computer then you could send documents as attachments.

I used my copier/fax/printer/scanner when I was expediting... tied into my laptop - I had to fax BOLs after every drop.. really easy to scan them and email them.. plus, they were then electronically captured.

Yup, Efax. Buy a scanner/copier that way you can scan and fax via Efax.

Efax runs about $16.95 a month although if you pay annually instead of monthly it's less. I can't remember but we pay $100 something a year. I will say I try not to use it. I get brokers to email every chance I get. I prefer email because the documents load much faster to email than to efax. We have an all in one HP Officejet 4500... I think we paid around $100 for it. It has a top loader so I can set all the pages on it and it scans them all into one PDF. However efax wont send something that big, I don't know why because it'll send 10 pages separately at once. Just another reason I try to stay with email. I can attach big PDF's without a hitch to an email.

I pay $10/month for Myfax. I had a problem at one time scanning documents as a standard document. The file was too large. I changed my setting to photo and have not had a problem.
