Does anybody know of any products that will keep tires cool? I usually run recaps and have had an occasional blowout. Id like to try keep them cooler to prevent the blowouts seeing that fuel is now going through the roof.

The best way to keep them cool is to keep them properly inflated. Underinflation is the number one cause of heat build up in any tire, be it virgin or retreaded. Check them often and make sure they are cool when you check them.

Thank you very much for that information.

I heard there was a product that seals leaks and keep tires cool. Im not sure how to get it or what it is called.

The only thing you want to put into a tire is air, and you have to check them often. I am not a tire man but worked with some good ones, and many of the junk people put in their tire soften up the rubber on the inside and when you get a leak they can not get a proper seal on the plug patch.

Nitrogen is much better.

That is an interesting alternative, the only problem is finding it in a convenient location for a big rig. Certainly less leakage and cooler running as a benefit.

Here a good info about nitrogen look with google www.innovativebalancing.com/Nitrogen

What do I do if I have to add air?
No problem at all. The small amount of air you may add at some point will still be a very small percentage of the total mixture of air/nitrogen in the tire.
