Or the TWT driver that left the truck stop 2 hours before his 10 hour break was up to pull across the street to be first in line to deliver in the morning when a car load of Mexicans ran a red light and hit him in the fuel tank. Didn't matter that they ran the light or that they were not even in the country legally all the mattered was the truck driver was out of hours.
Driving a truck is one of those things where you are guilty until you can prove your innocence. -
Good job driver. Many haven't thought it out or planned how to minimize death. Instances like that you can't avoid, but you can move 5 feet this way or 5 feet that way to take away the direct hit. Hats off for being a professional driver. Stuff like that seperates the men from the boys.
Or woman from the girls!!! (before I get clobbered, lol)
AUSSIE DAVE Thanks this. -
You Have to have it, so you get it. You pay x amount of dollars a year, IN CASE something happens. If you are so unfortunate that something DOES happen, you have to pay them a deductible, to get them to do something. Then, once they do something, they raise your rate of x amount of dollars for 5 years, to cover the cost of what they just paid out and then some.
sure sounds like a scam, doesn't it? -

I hear you, I had to submit a copy of my run sheet (which has all details of my working day, etc in it) with the insurance claim form. lucky for me i have a diploma in government investigation and have the ability to compile a sound claim form that the insurance will not be able to FIND a fault with, which will allow them to say "oh sorry but we will not payup because of xyz -

How bad of shape is your hood? Did it get anything in the engine compartment? Be careful in signing that check until EVERYTHING is fixed on your truck. I went through something similar recently, and ended up having to pay out of pocket for a couple little things that were overlooked by the estimator.
