Forgive my ignorance, but what is "Sitting-Duck" parking?

 

Any time you park along a highway, on an ON/OFF ramp, you are a "SITTING DUCK" for an accident.
Hence: Sitting Duck Parking

the truck might have been a case of sitting duck parking,but how do you not see a big rig!?

 

And why did the guy veer off the road? They ruled out drugs or alcohol. Mysterious!

 

I would be led to believe he dropped off to sleep. Judging from the facts here and considering the time of day. It is easy to do especially , for those who are not used to driving at this time of night. Condolences to the family ....
