Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Im at a job now that pays me 23% of linehaul and FSC. Owner pays all expenses and workers comp, no insurance. I get home most weekends and am home often during the week. I average 9-1500 a week depending where I am willing to run. The truck is a 2005 Frieghtliner Classic XL, 13 speed and a 500 CAT motor. Can you beat that?

why would the owner pay 23 % of of the fsc ?
do you put in 23 % of the fuel cost ? -
IDK and Im not gonna rock the boat asking. All I know is when I get my stub at the end of the week it shows linehaul pay and the FSC. I then get 23% of the sum of those two rates. Our turn over is non-existant.

got that right--i wouldnt complain about getting a bit more--i just found it odd
maybe just call it a fuel bonus -
Yeah i guess you could call it a bonus. I think I spend less than other drivers on fuel as I dont run th etruck constantly. If Im at a shipper and its not very hot or too cold I will turn it off. Same when going into a truckstop for a shower or meal. I dont see running the truck and wasting the fuel if Im not there to enjoy the comfort of the heat/ac. I recently did a run to Williston, ND with another driver with the same truck and set up the same way, he had to fill up three times I only filled twice. it was very cold but I had lots of blankets, so as an experiment I did not run the truck while sleeping or when I was out of the truck for more than 10 minutes. It paid off.

Well. Honestly you doing better than I would provide. You getting fuel surcharge which im not offering. The savings must be huge and it does make sense to reward a driver considering the high fuel cost.

2 years exp. for 20%. good luck! bottom dollar around here is 25% usually 30%. no offence but for what you`re paying, if you do find someone with 2 years exp. to take that, they`ll probably have a lengthy record. although i will say, i would rather work for a guy for 20% than run with a mega carier..
