You Know your in trouble and at a bad shipper when the window for your paperwork has been modified to set 3 foot back from you and the clerk, I'd guess they do that to keep us from reaching in and grabbing them when they make us jump thru one hoop to many.

nah you know you are in trouble when the office is 1/2 mile a way--and you check in by phone and put the paperwork in a vacum tube!
-
I must agree with him

Nestle in LA? -
never been to that one--but lot's of Americold's--started@the old one outside Allentown Pa
-
You've been to the Target DC in Cedar Falls, IA?
There was a P&G that did this as well, I just can't remember where. -
No I haven't--but I have always pulled a reefer--and mostly LTL--so i do not get into a lot of places like those--bit I do know--the Americold in Eastern Pa--did it--out of FEAR--LOL--after 12-15 hours people get testy--of course there is no reason for this and after almost 30 years that particular location refuses to change--me thinks they just like leading the industry in places THAT SUCK--LMAO

I just about got jumped by a couple of drivers at Americold in Allentown. I lived in Lansdale, just south of there, and drove for Zeigler's Apple Cider. After a run to a warehouse in NJ, I got a backhaul out of Americold... we spotted a couple of trailers there, and I was headed to Chicago - a big run for a local driver.
I bebopped myself in there, smile on my face, whistling, and dropped my empty, went inside to see which door I was pulling out of... and felt like I was the brand new guy walking into the prison block.
One guy had been there 10 hours, no detention... I felt bad, but nothing I could do but apologize. -
I guess if enough of us refuse to go to those places they may change, I refuse to go back after the 1st time they screw you, and I was fired once for it....I don't care, I don't treat anybody like that, and I will not be treated like that, me thinks after this csa2010 crap has weeded out all the riff raff, and theres mostly decent half educated drivers left, that there could be a change in the industry, as it is now theres just to many that will bend over and take it, "because thats part of trucking"
I disagree, that's not part of trucking, sure things happen.........understandable......but when it's a matter of policy..............adious.............look for one of "those" that aren't going to be around anymore to take your inconsiderate God like attitudes.
Ok, I'm done rantin now, I just love trucking, and Am not happy.......simply because it don't have to be this way. ' -
Right now imo its important drop your pride at a shipper/receiver and just deal with them no matter how rude they are, they will see that you are being nice and most likely will get you in and out, so far Ive run into some rude people at Americold but Im nice to them and it has worked out fine, I may want to punch them, but in the end the goal is to get in and out as quick as possible.
There are jerks everywhere in life, if you dont feed into their attitude, they dont seem to display as much attitude. Just put on your extra thick skin and move along, a lot less stressful than engaging them. Just my opinion.
