Nope we never turn down loads! Havent had any violations etc, cept the 2 preventables I mentioned in a diff post here, mine. But they werent giving us the miles before then either.
We are thinking of moving to a diff terminal which has been suggested by other drivers.
This week we had a 1700mi run an have accepted a 2200mi run back to California. We did talk to our DM, but we talked before...got a couple of good runs then back to the crappy ones

Been awhile, sorry, but not lol. We finally have had some miles and it has been way fun!
Do have a question, are the empty miles always combined with the loaded? We were asked, on a preplan, to take a load, 2300mi, an deliver it in 17hrs. Naturally we said this couldnt physically be done. Once we accepted it we saw it was 1700mi loaded.
Also when we went to pick up the trailer in Laredo we couldnt get under it, the tires were higher than the trailer, an it was jacked up all the way! We had to wait 6hrs til morning to get help from yard goat. It was frustrating and would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem?
Thanks all for your suggestions an support

Next time, try dropping your air suspension and get the beveled edge of the frame under the trailer. If you can do this, you can get under the trailer. Fully reinflate the suspension and push back under the trailer. You should be able to lift the trailer with the frame and slide it onto the fifth wheel. You have to be sure the fifth wheel is tilted back before you do this.

They must have parked your trailer back in that far corner. I ran into that once in Laredo, too. I made the yard jockey go pick it up out of principle...not because I couldn't do it.

Loads dispatched from Laredo often have the total mileage, including that within Mexico, added into the original preplan. That's where the 2,300 miles came from. When looking at loads from the border, check the mileage for yourself. Apparently, this one came from 600 miles inside Mexico.

If the tires hit the trailer you could take the suspension completely out its not gonna do any good

Unless you want a new set of drives

Which is why some of us carry 4x4s. When you pick the trailer up with the frame, put the 4x4s under the feet. Dorp the air, get further under the trailer and then pick it up with the frame again. I uderstand there are times this is simply not possible. In most cases, though, with a little inginuity a low trailer can be lifted when air suspension dump is available. Air dump can be similarly used when a trailer is dropped too high: dump the air, back the frame under, put 4x4s on the frame, lift the air, wind up the landing gear, dump the air, get the wood out, air it up and hook to the trailer.

If you drive for Prime, you're hosed. The trucks that are equipped with air dump have it disabled over there.

I know what you're saying but if I read her post right if the tires are hitting the trailer you're not gonna get the frame under it

There's an awful lot of frame behind the tires.
