Prime and Swift? Dont know who you talked to about Swift but they lied! One of the worst offenders for creating steering wheel holders. So bad in fact it got them in legal trouble couple years back and had to close one or two school sites. Prime, and I dont work for them but know folks who do and I have over 16 yrs experience trucking, has the best company training program I know of today. Some say its too long but trust me its not. They are very thorough and I can say since they began training their own drivers I dont worry when a Prime truck backs into a tight spot beside me. A Swift driver however will hit your truck with two spots side by side giving him plenty of room yet they still end up hitting you. A Swift driver will pull off the interstate shoulder from a dead stop right in front of another loaded truck. A Swift truck will ALWAYS blind you with his bright lights when you pass them,I personally think they teach them that because they all do it. If you want trained right go Prime.

Actually Dan your information is incorrect. The problem lay with the State of TN, the school is still open as are all of the Swift schools. Perhaps you should check your info before repeating rumors.

I was getting on I71 in Ashland, OH and there was this swift driver that cut across 2 lanes of traffic on the interstate, onto the on ramp, cutting off me and 3 other cars so he could get on the shoulder. No blinker, no horn, no indication that he was coming into our lane. Was he trained to do this or did he learn it on his own, Danfromwindsor?

Texas, find a news article stating it was a state of Tenn problem because I sure cant, however I find hundreds on the FBI raids and CDL revocations after those raids.
Mike Id have to say that when a driver that has 6mos of experience is allowed to train a new driver then that is the kind of crap you get. Was he taught correctly by someone with more than a year or two of experience? Probably not. Swift operates a true driver mill where safety comes in a distant second to profit.
