Just getting into trucking. All the posts say to visit the truck stops and buy the drivers coffee and ask questions. Without looking like a pervert or worse, how should I approach to ask questions about the truck or company? At the fuel pump, inside at the cash register, truckers lounge?
Thanks folks

I think most are approachable...The lounge, if the TS has one, or at the pump, pending how many questions you have is not a bad idea...Just not in the bathroom
I'm sure you can ask all the questions you have right here and get more answers... -
u can ask anyone questions, thats how we all learnt, just don t act strange,be honest,u arn t sure, better to ask,for example how to read ur weigh ticket, than for a weigh station to tell u that u are not legal, easier fixed at the truck stop, with help. and sharing route ideas can help alot

Do not bug me while I am at the pump. Trucks coming and going, setting and releasing brakes. Refers starting and stopping. I don't want to hold a long conversation while fueling and the dude behind me won't want me to either.
I would think most drivers sitting at the counter in the restaurant are the best option, if they didn't want to chat they could have sat at a table all to themselves. I think they are looking for a little bit of face to face chat time while they have their meal.
I could be wrong though. I'm just say'nT-Bone Thanks this. -
I usually don't have a lot of time when I'm at a truck stop, but ask me,I'll help you as much as time permits.

Just ask straightforward. If you're lurking around, eyeballing other drivers in a nervous fashion, that's probably not going to work out too well for you. A simple, "Hi, how's it going? Could I have a minute of your time to ask a question?" will suffice.

I don't see any post telling you to go to a truck stop??
Just read and ask here.
I'll say hi to you in a truck stop and talk to you. You offer me coffee, I'll think you're up to something. -

Oh, yeah... I should add, don't be discouraged if you happen across a driver who acts like an ### to you. It'll happen from time to time. It doesn't mean every driver will be that way. If you run across one, brush it off, and move along.
