When they come in to do an audit-the company and its employees will be held accountable for their part.I know of a big investigation years ago where current/former drivers were audited, most had plenty of details with dates and places which they freely shared with the investigators, and most of those drivers ended up with huge fines and penalties.A few of the drivers didn`t voluntarily produce any documentation and left the audit in pretty good shape.

And not one mention of the damage being done to the roads by running heavy.

But third raters will continue to run hot, run heavy, fail to report fuel tax, scimp on insurance( I know not part of original post but I'll bet a buffalo nickel I'm right), all so they can "really make the big bucks" instead of charging a good rate and running legal.

Sure wish he would post name so I could increase my valve stem collection by about 18 a pop

I highly doubt running a gross weight of 81k or a little over is gonna hurt the roads any...lol. Failing to report all fuel taxes really isn't a big deal either. It's the scimping on the insurance that would really bother me, none of the rest.

And just cause someone is "running hot","heavy", doesn't mean they are doing it cheap. Only the dumb ones and they usually put themselves out of business.

Looking to possibly get into trucking. Coming from a corrupt other job/career. The way I see it is, you either get your hands dirty and keep your trap shut forever - because they have dirt on you too, or refuse and keep yourself clean... what I would like to know is why the hell anyone would want to get trapped into doing illegal crap, work like a dog for someone that treats you like a dog, and then live in fear of anyone finding out? That seems like hell to me.

Is this the way it is in trucking or what? You gotta break the law and be a slave to some jerk to get paid enough to live? Is that the norm? If so it's not for me. I hope those of you that live that way enjoy the taste of your master's boots, and the way it feels when he yanks on the leash you put around your own neck.

You make it sound like he was someones hitman or thug...:biggrin_25526:

No offense to all the do gooders but hauling heavy, running over on your hours, fudging you fuel taxes stuff like that, isn't going to end the world! I'm not condoning it, but some of you make it sound like doing this is gonna end the world. In reality its gone on forever and will continue, even after EOBR's!

The point is you put yourself in a position where you have no power anymore. From that point forward, you better do what your told and keep your mouth shut about it or else. Then they can treat you like a dog.

I'm no crusader. I just want an honest days work for an honest days pay. Seems like if you choose to "play ball" you might as well have slave tattooed on your forehead. That's no way to live. (at least for me). If that's how it is everywhere out there, then maybe it's not for me.

What grade are you in? That kind of juvenile, chickensht stuff is worse than running big loads and long hours, as far as I'm concerned.

Thats not the way trucking is! The biggest thing in life is Choice, we all have a choice on everything we do.
If you went to a trucking school, they did not teach you any thing illegal.
Drive a truck the legal way you should, and dont worry about what someone else does. Good Luck

That is the best way to do it.

When I started with the trainer, the first thing that was told to me, is forget what the school taught you about being legal. This is the way the company wants it done.

Thanks. If you can make an honest living without being run off or starved to death for not "playing ball", then maybe there is a place on the road for me.
