If I'm within the two yellow lines, then I'm in my spot. Sure, one side of the trailer might be flush against the dock and the other side sticking out a few inches but some days, that's good enough for me.
Some days I'll try to make it perfect. Some days I get it in there perfect without even trying. Some days, as long as I'm within the painted lines and it's not crooked that much, then it's good enough.canuck in da truck Thanks this. -
I was docking one day and just having a hard time. some fool was making noise on the radio and when I finally got in he was laughing and I could see him. He was next in and promptly took the mirror off of this BRAND NEW maiden voyage Pete. the owner gets out pulls the guy from the truck and pounds the crap out of him. looks at me and asked if I wanted a turn. I declined, But it was tempting

A turn taking a beating or a turn beating the guy?
THe O/O probably meant he was looking for some more stress relief. Had you said yeah you might have been drug out of your truck as well...

right on,i wanted to park in the last remaing spot in a fj,and the truck beside my right was crooked,so i went in straight, his driver door was not openable, when he came back, was not happy, but looked down at the lines, and understood..

I hauled cows for yrs. So I am very anal about no gaps at the dock. It is a matter of pride to me to be straight as I can get. Even now when I have to dock. Witch isn't often since I pull a step deck. I am straight.

Thats the kind of drivers I want to work with!!If they have enough consideration to park straight then its almost a given that they will do the rest of their job right, too.Maybe I should thank you all in advance for pulling off the fuel island!!!

If there are any old-timers here that used to pick up and deliver to Lever Bros.Co. in Pagedale Mo.(St.Louis)I was one of the spotters their in the early nineties. I could tell you about some of the experiences of some of the green drivers coming in and trying to spot a truck at the rear dock. Or the south dock, next to the fence, where you had to blind in.
Most of them ended up dropping and I put it in with the spotting horse for them.Sometimes you would get a driver that would hit it with one pull up but that was pretty rare. -
I really want you to understand I am not calling you out personally but Look at what you are saying...
ok big deal your inside the two lines trailer tires on right next to the line on the passenger side driver side steer tire on the the other yellow line...now When I back into your not straight in self who you gonna be mad at when your mirror hits the ground...
YOU SHOULD HAVE about the same amount of space between the lines on both sides of vehicle other wise YOUR NOT IN STRAIGHT..
but I guess thats the difference between a 20+ year vetran and a new 2 year rookie...but its cool YOU WILL eventually learn once you loose enough jobs due to PREVENTABLE accidents due to bad parking.. -
I can't believe you'd bring that little incident up after almost TWO years. And I'll have you know I NEVER spun the drives in that sand......I just got stuck right away and just sat there. LOL
uggggggghhhhhhhhhhh The stupid things we do when we're new.Wargames and Working Class Patriot Thank this.
