Joined the National Guard when I was 18. Started driving delivery trucks. Every local gig you can think of. Wanted my class A , but put it off for 22 years. Still regret waiting, but life is great now.

10 years active duty USAF, until medically retired. 9 years in retail management and the car business (used car manager/F&I), (with a stint at Matlack Tank Lines until they went out of business)...then the expert witness gig until Jan 2008, then driving.
Back to the expert witness gig (trucking and automotive) as of March 1. -

PLEASE do NOT use you GI Bill on a trucking school! Unless you go to a tech school which I believe Sage isn't! Put it on a credit card if you have to but please don't waste the GI on a driving mill!
Thanks for your service! You can't stay in longer? -
Sage is a technical school.

I probably could stay in longer but I don't think my body would hang in there with the running requirements for physical training. I think that's what finally made the discs in my lower back give out. I have a few $$$ grand in replacement hardware in there now, and will likely set of metal detectors.
And I tried using the Post 911 GI bill to pick up the rest of the cost, but the VA wont be changing the rules for certifications until 1 August ...the day I'm officially labeled a civilian. I joked with the VA lady on the phone and asked if they could post date a check LOL. I need to find a job while I'm on terminal leave. Tuition Assistance is paying for $2500 of the class, the rest will be out of pocket...savings. That will cut into my "crap don't have a job on 1 August" money, but I should be ok as I have a bit saved up and my retirement check will be a decent amount a month.
