And using this same logic, since he was accustomed to second hand stores, all politicians should be required to shop there as well, the savings to the taxpayers would be substantial!

Wow, times have changed. I was raised in the system, State of California was my "mommie and daddie". My foster parents (who I've called mom and dad since I was 10 and took their last name) never received a "card" for for expenses for me. Everything came out of their pocket. I know they received a stipend or something like that, but only like 50 bucks. But then again this was in the 60's and 70's.
Guy should be booted out of office. There's already a stigma to being a foster kid, don't need to add to it when all a kid wants is to be in a normal, happy, healthy family.simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
Well what a great idea.......punish the children because the adults in their lives have failed them. Now, I have nothing against recycled clothing but the fact that he wants to force it and not allow them new items is absurd. It's not good for a child to wear used shoes. Nor would most of us wish to wear used undies.
I really dislike politicians and I don't care what party he belongs to.
When are you people going to wise up and put me in charge??simplyred1962 and JimDriv3r Thank this. -
As soon as you bribe us with pie and cupcakes. You want a vote from me? Pony up the pastries, Miss!

You don't understand......I don't bake them anymore! I only EAT them.JimDriv3r and simplyred1962 Thank this. -

And what pray tell are these folks supposed to do if they cannot find clothing in the right size in serviceable condition?

I know, GL. This man is just being ridiculous. Yes, there are many good, nice clothing at SOME second-hand stores. But, to make a child know that they can ONLY get second-hand clothing, is outrageous!!
Plus, as Nana stated, who wants to buy and wear used undies??? That's just disgusting!!!Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
All lawmakers must abide and actively use the laws they enact.
Casswell and his family should only wear Salvation Army or Goodwill clothes for the rest of his life. They should not be allowed to fly but have to drive themselves, no chauffeur, they have to foot their own hotel bills and drive with a logbook. I'm tired of politicians getting off on tickets and breaking laws then getting away with it.simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
You mean the Salvation Army sells secondhand cars?

They have hotels, in the form of downtown homeless hostels, so thats ok.
