A Warning about Hendrickson Trucking!

Looks like they pay like most other companies.

 

Braveheart, what you has said is true!
I have runs where my team driver and I averaged only $7.25 per hour, if you look at the run on an hourly bases.
Detention pay is another joke from Hendrickson, they only pay $10 per hour, per truck, so that equals $5 per hour for a team driven truck!
This is not right!
The dispatchers will hang you up on loads tying up these trucks!! Something the Recruiter Dick said would not happen! He said that these trucks were making 5300-5700 miles per week!

What a lie!!

OK, I will tell you why I was looking for a new job and I read Hendrickson's web site. Now I don't want to run around and treat everyone I meet like they are a lying sack of SH##. I also had no reason to not believe these people. I put in my application and got a call back from Linda. She asked me to come in and do a drug & driving test. I show up and immediately I'm in a driver orientation class where they are telling us drivers how things work at Hendrickson. I was told that they are hiring company drivers but it wasn't until after sitting there in that class they told us that we need to find a partner because these new trucks can only run as teams! I asked about the miles and how the pay would work. Everything is split down the middle. It was actually Dick who said that these trucks are running non stop doing nothing but drop and hook you will make all kinds of miles! (What a freaking Liar!!!)
I teamed up with a guy from the class and we got along pretty good. On our 6th day we had a load we picked up in Perris CA going to the Lowe's in Merced, when we got there 8:00PM they refused the load as the manager was not there to receive it. We were told to come back at 11:AM the next day, Sunday. Dispatch told us that Hendrickson would not pay for a hotel yet the truck only has one bed in the sleeper! They would not pay us for sitting there forcing us to be in a very adverse sleeping condition!
15 hours not getting any pay!!
When I questioned Candy the payroll clerk about this she said that I need to take that up with payroll! So I sat down with Dick (The Head of Recruiting) and asked him about this situation! He said one of us should have stayed in the drivers seat while the other was in the sleeper!!! I asked him about the 15 hours waiting he said that's truckin!!
Can you believe that!!!

 

NO THEY DON'T!
With this new California Truck program each driver is put into a truck with another (Team) driver and everything is split 50/50!!!
example: Detention time? if you get any it is $10 dollars per truck per hour! split that out and your getting $5 per hour! That's below the minimum wage!
If you ask the the recruiters about that rate of pay, there response is....
...."THAT'S TRUCKING!!"

Good Old Mr. Dick doing all the recruiting and training class has got a big bag of lies to tell new recruits!
Lies like These trucks will be running non stop Drop and Hook.

What are they smoking? either that or their week is a 10 day week!

If your working for this crappy company or you have a friend working there thell them to "keep track of your hours, Times and mileage, If you don't Hendrickson will really screw you! "

These Kenworth Trucks are narrow cab small sleeper with very little cabinet storage, they are gutless wonders up the grapevine, then add a second driver and your cramped in like a can of sardines!

Hopefully your team driver takes a shower everyday!!!!

Should you not sort of NOTICE this before you go to work there , think those famous words ( BRAND NEW TRUCK ) blinds a few people at times to all the FACTS

 

At least the pay scale is public. So is the military. But it does not cover the operational arrangement. Military is government. Everyone is a fighter or rifleman. Trucking. Everyone is a driver. The huge difference is you have the freedom to quit and they have the freedom to fire (pun due to language....English). Thanks for publicating (yep, bad english).................MOVE ON!

Oh maybe your trying to compare truck driving to sitting in your cubicle as you try to recruit new employees or dispatch them to sit forever in LA!

Well sorry Truck Driving can not be compared to an 8am to 5pm job, 5 days a week!!! We are often working for 12-14 hours each day for 7+ days crammed up in a truck all day and night! We are responsible for the truck and load and constantly dealing with the safety issues as we travel!

This time needs to be properly compensated for!
Fueling, Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections. Sitting at a dock for waiting to be loaded or unloaded.
