Truck companies get their new drivers from SOMEWHERE...

I'm attending AIT (small loan coupled with a big grant) with pre employment.

I'll be doing an externship starting May 16th with Werner.

Maybe a school would be an option for you. I don't know about the various ways to score a job, but this one is working wonders for me.

I find it hard to believe schneider wouldn't be a viable option for the op. I also would be at the school everyday. While at the school, you can tell them they have two options..first they can help you get a job, if they won't you can stand outside telling all new or perspective students how the school/schooling is worthless.

Does Schneider hire up in Canada? That's where the OP is from.

Check into the Workforce Investment Act. They will pay for full training; If yo're a vet you go to the top of the list!!!! I had 6 job offers after the first week in class!!!!

    Any questions on this program?

you can try westcan I know since they bought out ECL they have been screaming for drivers and it is a newbie friendly place too start.

try bison,H&R, trans X and go run team for them and ask too get paired up with a experienced guy too learn the ropes better..

its not the companies that dictate who they hire as much as the insurance companies as it is a cool million bucks or more liability against any truck as soon as it leaves A yard. doesn't matter who's driving it.

So why some companies are reluctant to throw a newbie in a truck. because of the liability.

Only out of Ontario and Quebec. Ironically, the runs they do are teams to Alberta.

Schneider is the only one of the big fleets that have a Canadian division I know of.

    wulfman75 Thanks this.
