I'd agree that a key thing to do is be around that rig and get familliar and comfortable with it over your weekend in Missoula; why not? Essentially a free opportunity.
Best of luck guys!

How much for the GPS and the cobra? Which RandMcNally is it?

Its nice that they provide the opportunity to practice on "off time". I will be taking advantage of that when I arrive there. Our trucks at the school are a little older so I'm looking forward to getting some experience in something newer. Lol

Hey walstib.... I see you are one of the few on this forum from the midwest. not sure what part of KY youre from, but i was wondering if you could shed some light on working for W/S as a midwesterner? What Term do you run out of? Lanes you travel? Do you do furniture mostly? .... stuff like that, basically if you have the time, any info you would like to share.
I do appreciate it!
Thanks. -
American Trucker is from NC and runs out of the Conover terminal, his thread can answer some questions for you.

I'm based out of the KY terminal, but all they do is LTL carpet runs, no OTR so I'm only there for hometime...I run the lanes from Maryland to Washington to California to Georgia and everything inbetween...I just go where they send me, when I want to get home I usually get a load out of the Dalton, GA terminal that feeds the KY terminal with their carpet...And I haul anything and everything, nothing in particular...beezer Thanks this.

awww come on! my TV ain't that loud!
I'll shut the truck off when I go to bed!

Thank you for the responce.
So even though you live in KY, they (W/S) dont keep you on the East Coast all the time? and you say the KY Term is LTL, but you are OTR, so do you get any / alot LTL ever?
I ask because W/S sounds like a great gig, however although I will go where ever they want, I would like to run out west as much as possible (my favorite part of the country). I dont really want to LTL either. And do I understand right that they train in Missoula and Conover, NC, thats it?
Thanks again for the info.
