I have narrowed it down to KLLM and May Trucking. I keep flip flopping between the both of them. From what I can see the pay is almost the same and they seem to get a lot of miles. Can someone who is or has worked for them give me some insight on how they are doing. Thank you in advance.

I just upgraded to get my own truck at KLLM. So far it has not been bad.

They are pushing the leases. The lease stories I have heard range from bringing home $300 weekly after all expenses to $900 being the smallest check! I was able to get the midwest regional company driver position that I wanted. And my own truck, once they replace the starter and work on a water leak. (keeping my fingers crossed)

Trainer stories range from great to ok to not really that bad...

Pay was similar for my top three choices, but KLLM had the best tuition reembursement plan.

Thanks Mikee, yeah I heared thier pushing the lease program hard. How are your miles and how long did it take to get your truck? I want to run all 48 but mainly the southern states, anything south of I-40 to the whole west coast. What were your other choices for companies and where did you go to orientation?

    Keep on trucking brother,
    Kash

I just passed training! I was assigned a truck, it needs a starter and has a water leak. (its a cascadia)

I am taking a few days off, at home, while they send it to frieghtliner for repairs. Soooooo, 0 miles so far.

I asked for, and they gave me, midwest regional. Two months ago there was a 40 driver backlog for trucks, when I passed the tests, last wed. there was only three drivers waiting.

I don't know if they have a "mostly south" region.

Well I must be one of the three because I have been waiting for a truck since last Tuesday! I am supposed to be a SE Regional Company driver but I have heard nothing from them yet.

I hope you get one soon. It is one of my biggest fears. doing all this work and then not getting a truck. I am sure it will continue, wondering if they will take it away.

I think I will become a trainer, as soon as I have something to offer. Maybe then I will be able to relax. Except for trying to sleep with rookie drivers driving... heheheheee

Good luck with the driving test tomorrow....
May has only 48 side (refer) and 11 western (dry)side.
So, with May you wont have the option of staying to the southwest..No clue what KLLM has as an operating area.

Don't even thiink about leasing straight out of school. Learn the driving job first, once you have that down better you can think about learning the business side. You are setting yourself up for failure if you lease straight out of school.
