personaly myself if i had to wait weeks for a payissue to be resolved and was still feeling as though i was being dodged when i asked, i would start looking for a new job. pay is the reason your working, its what you need to live, if your getting the runaround then they dont care to much about your needs. you can still leave on good terms if you find a way around it then when you apply for a new job it is a good reason your looking for another job and opens up the pay discussion with a new company. your working to earn a living not to get screwed around on that income.

Yes it might be payroll's job to get it straight, but if they dont have the right info from the dispatcher or whatever they call themselves at that particular company, then it might be hard for them to do that. Did the driver live unload or drop and hook? Delay time? Driver assist unloading or unload the whole trailer? Layover pay? Dead head or not? Discrepancy in mileage? At a lot of places dispatchers carry other "badges" than just a dispatcher and their jobs might include other things than just "dispatching".

It dosent really matter how they do it where I work (hourly), it matters how they do it where the OP works and "Dispatchers are too busy dispatching..." might or might not be the case.

You have to remember some dispatchers are handling up to 100 drivers. It's not an easy job. Like many said, talk with payroll. If it's not already documented on the computer, like added pay, then payroll will communicate with the dispatcher.

It's the same thing basically. Payroll is not as busy and they will initiate the communication. This happens all the time, so don't think it's just that dispatcher. It takes a super dispatcher to keep up with everything.

You might want to handle it in writing rather than over the phone. Any issue I have with my check prompts an email to both my terminal manager and dispatcher. That way they can handle it in their time. You never know what is going on at that moment when you call someone. Maybe an email to payroll, dispatcher and TM would be more effective.

Thank you for all the insight. After speaking with my dispatcher I believe we resolved the concerns I had. This week I should see the missing pay...

I don't see myself with this company for much longer than another year. My main goal is to get experience to allow me to find a local job that allows me to be home nightly. I know their are the die-hards who dedicate their lives to living out of the truck for 20,30+ years only home a few days/weeks a year. Perhaps that is part of the problem that drivers are willing to live their lives like that. Drivers should be able to go OTR, make a good living and still get REAL quality time home and not be forced to dedicate their lives to OTR just to make a living. I enjoy driving, but for me giving up life outside of trucking is not something I'm willing to do.
