finally heading out

    Ok so i finally will be heading out to Springfield on may 8th. My oreintation begins on the 10th but stupid greyhound takes a day and a half so i must leave a day eairly. Anyone got any pointers on what i should bring while i am with my trainers?

    also i was wondering if i end up being a company driver after all training is done, do i pick my truck or do they just asign one?

    thanks again for all the info i have gotten so far. it was all very usefull

    I do indeed! Be sure to tell your trainer that you want to do a "Pretrip" before you start, after 25 miles, and every 150 miles or 3 hours.

    I suspect that you were referring to....

    Checking cargo securement, and pretrip are different inspections.

    But, seriously, Good Luck with Prime.

    didnt realize i was on my wifes name haha so u get ur truck huh, are you company or lease? if company do you still hand pick your truck?

    Hand pick? Sure, they place one key in your hand and you choose from that one key.

    Kidding aside, no choice.

    Though I have heard of them taking perverse pleasure in giving an older truck to the guys who shoot their mouths off in line about only wanting/suggesting getting a new truck, and giving the new trucks (if available) to the guys who don't care or say anything. Of course, it's just a rumor.

    will do cage looks like i'll be heading out later than expected due to finacial issues..... only pushes me back 2 weeks just tired of waiting, i've been tring to become a trucker for sometime now, i swear this is the last straw not letting anything else get in the way !
