Anything for free is good. They ain't like they use to be though. It's always been a penny a gallon. That went alot further 15 years ago.
We're over due for a point raise but the con artist won't give us one. We ought to get 2 points a gallon now.

There have been time I had to do the same with the points. Points for showers and food when the pay is not there. I say always get the points!!!!
One of the few perks for drivers out there! GO FOR IT!simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
I agree with those who say its worth it. Heck its even worth it for O/O's. I had to do the same thing like trailmaker and simplyred a couple of times.

simplyred1962 Thanks this. -

simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
I had about "140/150" dollars worth of points on my pilot/flying j card then I went on a card bing. Screw paying with cash!! Then I wanted to see how far away I was from getting a new CB. Down to "28" dollars... Whoops... Back to saving up the points!
truckerdaddy24 and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
...but you are paying at least 5-10 cents per gallon more for your fuel than you would at the small independent fuel stop across the street or just up the road. That and it costs you points to refill your mug at the big chain truck stops, whereas the refill is usually free with the fill-up at the smaller independent fuel stop. With the current price of big chain truck stop coffee/soft drinks, you may or may not have any points left over to accumulate.
Personally, I have no use for the big chains....Pilot, Loves, Flying J, TA, Petro, etc. My wallet is also MUCH thinner since I removed and threw out all of those stupid rewards cards. Most of the time, I'll drive past a big chain truck stop and I can't help but laugh at the price they have up on their sign...because I just bought fuel with a Visa card up the road for 15 cents per gallon less than they are advertising as their cash price....and they'd want even MORE if I used that same Visa card. The money I save by NOT going to the big chain truck stops for my fuel I save again when I don't shop at the overpriced big chain truck stops, where they mark up the price of everything above and beyond what any other retail store would be selling the merchandise for.
But hey, pay 10 cents per gallon more for fuel to get a point or two per gallon back as a reward point, that can be redeemed in their store to reduce the 20% overpriced item by 1 cent for each point you have saved up. Sounds like a heck of a deal to me.
For a company driver, it absolutely makes sense. They HAVE to fuel where the company tells them to. They aren't paying for the fuel, but they get points for the gallons they pump into the truck...which they can use to buy stuff in the store at a more reasonable price.
But when YOU are the one buying the fuel?
truckerdaddy24 Thanks this. -
I bought a 27inch plasma tv with built in dvd player at a Pilot for 14 bucks out of pocket....rest was points...I could have waited for the other 1400 points, but I was bored....I have eaten with them also....I really hate to pay for a shower since I get fuel nearly everyday I am on the road..no need to waste that 10 bucks, or I seen TA went to 11 dollars for a shower now. crazy!

For me is the Ta and petro the cheapest price.I have a special cash price for my fuel, and the 2 is the loves, never pilot or fly j,only when iam not find a Ta or petro
