Was wondering if it's possible to play black ops online from my truck? I would like to take my PS3 on the road for downtime. I could go thru my phone for internet connection but don't know if it would be to slow?? I would think WIFI at the truck stop's would be possible???? Would appreciate any input....

not worth the effort. You can game, just not really online.
I have my 360 and a 3g wifi/hotspot on my HTC Evo. The most I ever do is get online to get updates, or current rosters on MLB or Madden. It's not really worth trying to multiplayer over a 3g connection. And truck stop WiFi is absolutely worthless. Later in the day there are so many people trying to get online it's basically useless. -
I second what swaps said. Your going to want at least 6 megs down to play online and neither 3g or truck stop that will provide that. Unless, of course, you find a truck stop with above average wifi.

It is the latency that will kill you. The problem with most wireless connections is the response time between you and the server. For the casual game it's OK, but for a FPS you might as well but a bulls-eye on you and call yourself dead meat.

I play Bad Company 2 (pc) by tethering my blackberry to the my desk top computer. Not great compared to cable internet but do-able. All depends on how good a signal I have. Usually better near big cities and also better during off peak cell use times.
