If it is even wear on the outside rib it is an alignment issue. If your tire is cupping on the outside rib that is an indication you have worn suspension components that are not working properly.
Flipping a tire on the rim, unless it's a directional tire, is perfectly ok but it doesn't fix the underlying problem of what caused a tire to wear funny in the first place.

And don't just get the front axle aligned, do all 3. Having the back axles out can cause goofy steer tire wear too.

once a tire starts wearing a certain irregular pattern, you cannot do anything to stop it. switching sides, remount, nothing I have tried will reduce the pattern once it starts, it will continue that pattern of wear. in my experience.

Lenny, how do you get to much toe in on only one side? Do European trucks use rack & pinion or something?
Pawco, do your tires have a groove about an eighth of an inch wide on the outside edge? If not you may have metro use or construction use tires on. You need that groove for highway use or the tires will cup -
my question would be is there any vibration while driving? an unbalanced tire can cause vibration and uneven wear on a steer tire but you would most likely feel it.
