Anyone have any first hand information in regards to this account? 11 Western has been driving me nuts with the lack of freight. I always plan my loads smart so that I will deliver at the beginning of my work day so I will have the max ammount of hours to run when I get a new load.....but what REALLY happens is it just gives me the max ammount of hours to kill at a truck stop waiting and waiting for a load, and that is IF I am lucky enough to get a load that day. I have had too many days lately where I only "work" 2-4 hours a day due to me delivering a load and then sitting the rest of the day. From what I hear the miles aren't amazing on the walmart dedicated, but having available freight and backhauls to keep you moving and having the chance of some more home time is appealing.

Any and all help/advise is always welcome...

    Thanks in advance
    Chuck

Only first hand I've had with WM dedicated is talking with a few of their drivers. They all seem happy. They say they have steady freight.

LOL. The catch is their pay was lowered last year. Not sure exactly what it is, but it still must be worth it. :biggrin_2559:

Walmart lower pay? sounds like you're working for Walmart as a greeter/sticker/shopping cart hand out person lol. Cant be lower than what im getting now seeing as how im at the bottom of the barrel anyways. I dunno how many more of these $3-400 paychecks i can take being out on the road all week long. To me it just doesnt add up making that litle AND being away from home AND running hard (when they give me the chance to at least) for 3-5 weeks at a time. It almost feels like since im a week or two from my 6 month anniversary with schneider they are trying to weed me out lol.

I'm not with Schneider, I'm with Swift but we're on a Wal-Mart dedicated fleet. I'm not sure if you'd want my info.

I don't think they are trying to weed you out. Freight just sucks on the west coast right now. I'm sure it pays better than what you're getting now. Its just lower than what they were payed before. I know what you mean. $300-400 per week isn't much when you're on the road all the time. Try asking around the OC about getting onto a local or dedicated acount. I think we need regional drivers on inermodal right now. Its not really regional either lol. Mostly runs up north to Visalia, Delano, Shafter and then south at the border. Occasionaly they need help at FUN72 and some runs to AZ.

Yeah those runs to Arizona...i swear every time i go there, it seems like freight goes into that place but it's pulling teeth to get it going out lol. Arizona (phoenix/tolleson area) is one of those places where i frequently see a truck stop full of trucks at like 10am alllllll waiting for new loads lol. I was thinking about the whole intermodal thing seeing as how a lot of it is day cab stuff, but i've heard a lot of horror stories about the rail yards and that freight goes up and down more with intermodal than it does with the normal van side.
