Yup, Central is there to hold you up. Good old Hunt. Did he stop and admit he did it or just take off?

I have been to;d that 2 years looks better on your record. I would love to get on with a local grocery warehouse but they want 2 years OTR experience before they will even talk to you. I checked with Staters, Albertsons, Vons, Food 4 Less, Ralphs, and a couple of others. Same story.

1bad, you are tired of hearing me piss and moan? That is rather comical. Go back and read your posts and those of your wife and check yourself. And, if you read what I wrote you would see I don't piss and moan, just try to be helpful. Reading would also lead you to see why I am posting again.
However, now I will piss and moan because I have something that irks me. Sooooooooo, on the way into fontana the turbo actautor started setting a run stop code. Limped it to the terminal and set it up so we could have a loaner. The loaner is one of these wonderful Freightliners everybody raves about. We decided it would be better than sitting, so we will give it a shot. It took them until nearly 4:30 to get it ready mechanically (it only needed a lube and an air hose). We cleaned the inside. Thanks to the storage cubes and good organization, I was able to prep our necessities to swap over in short time. We dropped off the truck at Cummins at literally 5:58 and they close at 6:00. We heard from them how no one has done the right thing on this truck since we started having issues. Well, duh, that is why I joked with the guy about putting dynamite in the fuel tank. Anyway, the new truck comes complete with the new Qualcomm, so we had to wait until safety was in on Friday morning to log us into the new system, so we lost a load. Got some rest, and I have to say I miss my mattress (Sleepdog is highly recommended). On top of the spring crud, it isn't as wide, and that 3" matters. Despite what people say, it lacks power, the jake sucks, rides like crap, and you can't sleep while it is moving. Oh I want my truck back -
Found out yesterday that another guy from my class quit this week. He went with Schneider out of Portland,OR. I very nearly joined him. I got a "rush" order to get down to South Carolina...I was in North Carolina..supposedly the pre-load was waiting for me. I got there at 0530 and found nothing but empty trailers. Of course! The night crew let me know it wasn't even loaded yet! Why the rush, then? After several conversations w/dm and 12.75 hours the load finally shows up. I asked when and where it was picked up and was told 3hrs ago and 48 miles from where I started from! That's planning???

whats the average miles per trip around 1,000 miles or what, here in pittsburgh,pa. how do they run, salt lake to the north east then back west, or saltlake then towards the southeast then north to pa. then back to west coast, is it busy for the solo drivers there, heard the fish hauls down south are alot less sence most are now coming from oversea's at half the price, thanks

Hola, was that you in fontana talking too steve in the shop??, i was standing right there waiting for manny

Runs vary in length. 1000 mile runs though nice, seem lately to be about the maximum. Had a few nice runs, but also a lot of 500 mile runs, with a mix of shags and short runs thrown in for good measure. Hard to figure the rime or reason. Always had the hours to run, send in mt report right away with immediate availability. Have (knock on wood) had no downing maintenance that precluded running. I will take it as it comes.
As noted in another post the desirable local runs are expecting 2 years OTR. I just figured if you are going to stay out for the second year why not get paid more?
biker dave Thanks this. -
how long have you been with them, do they have accounts with lumbers at those warehouse's or to ya have to call for a comcheck no. which kinda bites cause there unloading other trucks while you wait for the p.o number, transam was a little of both, some accounts some comcheck numbers, work there for 2 years back in the 90's, usually reefer is longer runs per trip, dry box shorter but no lumbers, 400 to 600 mile trips every day will wear you out versus 1000 and up trips,

That probably was me if he was giving me a hard time about the loaner. So, did you see our truck while we were there??
