Being from Canada, my truck has mandatory daytime running lights ... sort of. :biggrin_255: I usually leave them on until backing, or if it is a really well lit T/S.

I will also leave my running/marker lights on if I get stuck on the end of a row ... and say a prayer before I go to sleep. :biggrin_25524:

Off-topic ... WTH is up with this? I've seen some drivers that need to be culled from the herd, like these ones.

I'm more concerned about someone running over me at the fuel pumps than whether their lights are on. I think the safety departments lights answer is, if you get in an accident at night, you better have had your lights on.

Mine almost always go off when my steers hit the parking lot pavement. About the only exceptions are heavy inclement weather (rain, fog, or snow) and unlit areas. I those cases I'll turn them off if I approach another truck and then back on after we pass.

Nothing like trying to hit a hole while being blinded by a truck waiting to get by.

i would leave them on---this is what headlights are for---to be able to see, until 100% parked.

i think parking lots/and yards are actually more hazardous than the highway. Use extra/extreme care when in them.

I leave them on until I'm parked in a spot.
That's what cab curtains are for.

I put mine on bright and turn my fog/driving lights on too. I am the only one that matters.

i never turn off my lights while in the truck stop parking lot looking for a parking space. no one will know the distance of the truck by just the running lights. the headlights give some idea of the movement of the truck. once parked, i will just leave on the clearance/marker lights.

What I don't get is why anyone would have their headlights on while backing up.

They don't help ya see any while backing up.
