HI everyone. Im a driver with over 4 years driving experience. I was with Swift for all that time and the last 1 1/2 i was a lease operator. I couldnt afford the lease and bills at home so i quit and went to doing factory work for Caterpillar until I got laid off. Well I put in applications for driving and got some offers but I narrowed them down to MIllis and Celadon. I want to know which would be a better choice given my experience. I would really like some insight. I know miles are important but I know was well I wont get 3000+ every week either. PLease help and I do try to have an open mind knowing there are lots of disgruntled drivers out there. I just want to get some info on both companies.. Thanks for any advice.

I drove for Celadon for just over a year and always thought they were a great company. Especially after spending the prior two years driving for Swift and JB Hunt. I got home every 10 days living in the Flint Mi area. The day of arrival home does not count against your home time either. I would always get home on Friday usually before dinner and go back out on Monday. Pay was not the best but they kept me moving so I was happy. home week $600-$750 week without home time $750-$1000. They do alot of freight in and out of Laredo, Tx so you can usually get some really good runs depending on where you live, but be prepared for a day or two wait coming back outta there depending on what day you came in. They have a open door policy all the way to the CEO and no windows to stand behind. Equipment is about average of what you would find with Swift or JB but goes a little faster. It was 68 mph when I was there. about the only time I had a problem getting miles was when they would purchase another company. When they bought Digby things got a bit rocky for a couple months but smoothed out in the end. I have been out of trucking for a few years now so things may have changed but my overall opinion of Celadon was they were a driver oriented company. I am actually looking into getting back into trucking again and I would love to return to Celadon but I have been out of the trk too long for their comfort. I am now looking at Millis. Best of luck hope this info helps
