There won't be a strike and if there was it wouldn't do anyone any good...There will always be stupid people out here a that will haul freight for nothing and then complain because there's "no money in trucking"...Those people deserve to be miserable and go broke.

Hmmm...There will always be cheap freight...No matter what...
Last time fuel was this high was back in'08...
I was getting pipe loads for $2.75 or better a mile....Yet there were still tarped loads out of OR and WA for less than a $1/M....Those rates wouldn't have been possible if people didn't take them.....

    Bottom line kids....

    • Know your costs per load...

    • Treat each load differently......

    • Don't be afraid to ask for more money....

    Bumpy and blackw900 Thank this.

Donald Trump said he is seriously thinking about running for Pres. No matter what you think of him personally, he seems to have good solutions for bringing the economy back. He IS one of the most successful business men in the world.

I hate to say this but fuel going higher for a short term will be good for me. It will weed out some more of the dead beat bottom feeders that haul anything no matter what the rate. If it stays high to long it will be bad for all of us no matter the rate we get because the companys will not beable to absorb the extra cost and frieght will slow way down again IMO.

Well most rigs average about 5 - 6 mpg. So for the sake of discussion that = $1.00 per mile for fuel. I remember when it was costing me .50 cents per mile for fuel and my settlement checks went way down. And has the price of freight gone up, not so much.
300 gallon fill up will look like a major repair bill. $ 1500.00 bucks for go-go juice..

Drill baby drill...Vote the socialist out next year..
