Oh the "my dispatcher told me" stories can be priceless--but I actually did watch a guy roll into Brooklyn--with a (what was left of)a load of Napa Cabbage--that he did ice--then could not understand why the refused it--and I know I should not have enjoyed it as much as I did--but his Temper Tantrum was Priceless!! LMAO

My luck is that I would give them some candy that has something they may be allergic to. Pretty sure they might think I was sent to poison 'em by the other drivers. lol

I just thought of another one. I had a load of onions with 3 drops. I was running late for my first appointment because of a flat so I called the first drop at the Boston market. On the phone the Receiver repeatedly called me "honey". Tired and irritable, I over reacted and snapped ending the call by yelling into the phone "Don't call me honey!" When I got to the dock everyone was smiling and calling me honey! The owner's son explained to me that his Dad called all women honey and didn't mean anything by it. Then the Receiver (Dad) let me shower while I was being unloaded. I'm glad so many people have a sense of humor.

Ya know, sitting here looking back, I've been to some pretty decent places, the kind that if I lived around there, I'd ask for a job.
Places like that are something like, "The good driver rarely gets noticed", until you think about it.:biggrin_25525:

The one that sticks in my mind recently, was the General Mills place down in Roanoke Tx. I hauled a load out of Toronto and nothing but misery all the way down. When I got there, I noticed how clean everything was, that sorta perked me up a bit. The girl at the shack was very pleasant to me, and told me it was driver appreciation day, and take what I wanted out of this huge box. WOW!! I told her that was the first time anyone in the US I delivered to had ever done that. She was surprised, and told me they do that every year. Sure made my day being treated like that, and it really was a very simple thing to do for us.
