Well, dropped my load today at the customer. Got there checked in and found out they expected me the day before. Myself and another driver. Looked at my paperwork, yup it says the 17th. Did not say that on my load assignment. Got unloaded and wouldn't you know. System outage time so sit for two hours until system comes on. Get a plan to my two favorite places. Pick up in jersey deliver in canada. Yay. Great times ey?

Well my friend, I dont see Jersey driving local but I do back up more than the average road driver. I have made it through a upstate NY winter and now have 9 months under my belt driv ing 45 to 50 hrs a week as a local 18 wheeler. I hope next winter is not so sevier. Stay in touch and good luck at the border

Hello all. Been reading various threads on the site for a couple of weeks and it seems that I could do worse than signing on with Roehl. I finally pulled the trigger and started the app. process today! Here's my question- if home time isn't that important for me, what are the real benefits of staying on the road 11-17 days?
Any feedback is appreciated. -
More opportunity to go where the freight is going. They can plan you better. More days out equals more miles.
sogsc Thanks this. -
Sounds logical. I was over thinking it a bit too much lol. Thanks a lot for the input hindsy.

Run for 3 weeks and ull have a nice paycheck every week just as long as you have a decent truck.

dude6710, thanks for the advice. It's still early yet, as I'm waiting on my app to be approved.
Speaking of which, do any of you good people have any thoughts on how Roehl/their underwriters view accidents? I was involved in one back in '08 with an 18wheeler and I was not at fault. Actually, never heard anymore about it after I was sent to the ER. My apologies in advance if this is a bit of a cross post.Last edited: May 21, 2011

Not really. You are just making it easier for them. A good dispatcher/planner runs you hard for 5-6 days then gets you home to do a reset. There is no need to stay out three weeks unless you want to. Not much of a life if you ask me.Cheryl Thanks this.

Then how many miles do you average then? I averaged 3200 easy by staying out 3 weeks. Even got a few trailers fixed each week.
