Stumbled across these from when I used to work at Werner and figured I would throw them up here. Anyone else have the pleasure of visiting this fine facility?

Disgusting! Is that snow on the ground or trash?!?!?!
-
Trash. :/ The big ruts out of the passenger window are from me. The right front steer sunk and it sucked me in. Lost all steering input, it just pushed. The harder I tried to get out, the further in I ended up.

And the ever present "mobile" dock plate.
If there is an "upside", it looks like you had plenty of room. Too bad they can't invest in a few truckloads of gravel to "fix" the lot. -
LOL LOL.....That plate is seriously illegal. Plates are not for forklifts. Tire marks indicate forklifts have been running in on it. Corner facing your view in the pic is resting on airspace where piece of dock is broken off. Would bet the "legs" are missing or bent flat/broken.
Major difference in it and a good board is $290 for a new plate, $725 for a 8000 lb board. Wrecker bill to hoist the forklift's drive out of the groove when it slips will buy them a good board.
Probably a new seat too where the operator worked "buttonholes" in it as he felt the free fall. LOL -
It was a bit tighter than it looked. Everything directly to the passenger side was soft as hell. It actually sank in so far that it pulled half the bumper off. Thank god for bungee cords.
The bad part was that I told my dispatcher that I didn't think it was safe to go in there with a truck over the qualcomm. He told me trucks do it all the time and to just go slow and that I couldn't refuse the load. When I went to get the bumper fixed, they did an accident investigation. I gave safety these pictures and told them to look at the qualcomm conversation. Somehow, they determined it was preventable. (The ground was not torn up before I went in there. All that was from me rocking the truck to get out. Couldn't tell it was wet at all. The steers just sunk instantly.) They didn't put anything on my DAC though thankfully. (I don't think they could have for something like that?) So glad that I don't work there anymore. It's a wonder that they have million milers that are accident free if breaking a piece of plastic is an "accident" to them.
-
Good grief. An accident report for that? Hopefully you won't have too many trips back there. If you do have to go back maybe you can swing by Omaha and take your dispatcher on a ride-a-long.
-
I work locally now, and Werner is a thing of the past.
As for the dispatcher, I was on DG out of Ardmore, OK. The dispatchers work there and there is no glass dividers. Walk right past them to the break room actually. LOL. We had words and he apologized. As far as the accident, that was in Omaha's hands. We did have an on site safety rep and he was shocked that they determined preventable.
As far as doing some shady maneuvers, this wasn't as bad as some of the things we had to pull to get into some of the DG stores. I really learned how to back on that account, and was very grateful that I wasn't still driving a Freightliner XL Classic.
