my d12 volvo is missing like it's starving for fuel. I've blown out the fuel lines, replaced filters and checked for water in fuel. It dosen't throw a code and no lights come on, how ever the read out says check engine at next stop. If I let it sit an hour or two it runs great for 10 miles or so then starts missing again. will a cam sensor do this?

check the pipe from the tank. could have some debris on the end. Anyone know if the suction tube has a filter on that?

    What year truck?

Your instrument cluster can & will tell you what the problem is & what the codes are.

    if you got
use dashboard display to read stored codes in engine control unit.

If there are fuel pressure issues you will get "Low fuel pressure" code and code in MID 128 PID XXX FMI XXX format. Post codes here I I will say to you how to check all components and find faulty one.

Are your vents clear? It may be creating a vacuum and starving it for fuel going down the road.

Sometimes when lines get old the inner liner starts to come apart and small flaps of it will peel and hang and block the flow. If u blow thru it u think its fine. After 7 or 8 years its smart to just change them. Especially since it can b hard to diagnose it.

Just looking on the computer and it says the D12 calls for 34 qts of oil and the last oil change I had done they put in 40 qts, could the extra 6 qts cause my problem?
