    Dammn it Dave, I dont even know what a 949 is.LOL I remember the top radio years ago, was the 99. I have a President George, I run, and that thing is about 20 years old, and still kicks butt.

    I have a galaxy 959 peaked and tuned at 35 watts and it walks the walk and I just talk the talk. The 99 is probaly the best galaxy radio though but I think they only sell them refurbished now, Correct me if im wrong.

    The DX949 is a the radio without the frequency counter and has sideband. My buddy has one and its a good radio. Of course it's tune up and run's a pair of Francis antennas with it.
