I like Pits, they get a bad rap my daughter has one and he's a sweetheart and I have friends who own PitBulls but, Mr.Lewis was right in what he did. Mr.LaValley should have been in control of his dogs as soon as all this started.

Just like with pets, a children's analogy comes to mind... there is no such thing as a bad child, only bad parents. The child would only be doing what he's been allowed to do, not that he would take it upon himself to be evil.
Dogs (and other pets) will act the exact way they're allowed to act, or trained to act. This isn't about 3 pit bulls attacking a guy and his dog, this is about a very poor pet owner not taking responsibility for his animals, and he got one of them shot.
He made a really stupid comment... and I have to ask, what was the guy (or anyone else) supposed to do? Wait and see if his shepard could take three dogs? Trust this crappy pet owner that everything would be ok?joesmo Thanks this. -
Why wouldn't you keep the one without aggression problems?
I think 99% of aggressive dogs have owner problems. -

let's just say i agree with you, "a real piece of work."
Just your average troll, actually reminds of someone else that used to be on here regularly. I wonder if it is the sane troll with a different user name. I wouldn't be surprised.ronin Thanks this. -
"Work" wasn't the four-letter word that popped into my mind.

Is it says that when it was all over...the owner of the pitbulls came up and shook the shooters hand, acknowledged his dogs were fighting...and then casually left the scene??
Say what??
I think that was a big mistake...I would never leave the scene of an inncident where a gun was discharged...I would definitly stay there until the police showed up...to protect my side of the story, and cause it's the right thing to do.
By leaving the scene, some could interpit that as 'fleeing' or an 'admission of guilt'...and allow the other guy to tell the police anything in their favor...
I don't think anyone, either party, should ever leave the scene where a non-confrontational gun shot is fired or discharged...expecially when an animal or human is grazed or hit.
Stay and tell your side of the story...whether your right or wrong, it's best to stay.(expecially if it's later deemed a crime was commited)..it may greatly effect your out come in court down the road based on how officer writes his report...
If the officer writes that 'second party left the scene after gun was discharged'...that might not look good to the judge or prosicuter, or could be used against you by other persons defense team, should it be deemed you were in the right...

To be fair his dog was shot, I'd leave and get my dog to a vet...
