Yes, garlic is one of the true super foods for many things including blood but an important note; you should use a clove of fresh garlic daily and crush it or slice it thin, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before eating it. I generally just slice it thin, put it on a spoon and swallow it with water like a pill or eat it on pasta, toast w/coconut oil etc.

He is also correct about lemon juice (should be fresh as well) and honey (which should be “raw” honey you can find at many stores like Whole Foods). Another superb food for your blood is cinnamon (this doesn’t matter what type, pills, capsules or powered mixed in with applesauce etc.

The best super foods website I know of is The World's Healthiest Foods

I was on Lisinopril for over a month and barely showed any improvement. My last time home, my Doc switched me over to Atenolol and my BP went from 170/110 to 120/75.

Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and Atenolol is a Beta Blocker

Both medications basically work in different ways to keep you vasodilated (blood vessels open) so that the job of the heart is easier-there for you BP is lower. (one prevents the hormone ACE that will make you vasocontricted and the other blocks Beta Hormones that make you get vasocontricted)

    great improvement!!!!!!

Yes they will hire you. If you are on meds for high BP then you can only get a one year DOT card, no meds the card is good for two years.

Oh man, and watch out for being sick and doing a DOT physical. I was sick as a dog taking everything I got my hands on and had to do a DOT physical. My BP was through the roof! I just barely got my med card for school a month prior and everything was good but my company wanted one by their doc. So I got a 1yr card (but I still have my 2 yr card). I went back for a follow up on my sickness and my BP was good.

Anyhow, as people mention, exsercise and cut out sodium. Also, I think strawberries and blue berries will help lower BP.
