    Generally, what are the best local jobs you can find in regards to home time, good pay, etc? Toss out any ideas you can think of from hauling cars, to construction equipment to whatever. Just curious where to start in the local aspect of it all.

    I really enjoyed hauling heavy equipment and would still be doing it if it paid better.

    Haul steel, plenty of companies out there that deal with scrap metal or construction material. Good hours 5am or 6am to around 2-3pm. Weekends off usually. Home every night.

    Nicer weather brings a ton of overtime it seems. Good equipment. Usually loaded by someone else or by crane so there isn't too much contact with the freight. I don't work for a steel company however 2 friends of mine do and they seem pretty happy with the work.

    Scrap metal is big around here. Everyday there is a new somebody looking for a driver to haul it. Only thing is - how long will it last? Scrap was to "ify", my husband didn't want to tempt it.
