They did not start cracking down on that until the CSA 2010 was being implements. There is a section on the CSA 2010 that is for driver fitness. Companies start hiring people that are not fit the CSA 2010 score will increase for both the driver and the company. Once the carrier's score is in the threshold the will get interventions and if they do not heed the firest few intervention letters then they will get audited. All those points under each section will eventually add up. There is a driver fitness section. I went to med school so I do know what overweight being can lead up to. I feel we are both right. I am not here to dispute with anyone either. I am just trying to be informative. Thanks and have a great day.

What do you expect? We are in America. LOL

That is funny, I am female and use to say something similar........Keeps the Riff-Raff out. You can use this logic in other areas also, too rich, too good looking ect.

You are not being informative - you are being uninformed. While I certainly agree that being overweight has health consequences, the FMCSA is not producing a rule against that. What you are doing is perpetuating a myth...
From the FMCSAs "CSA" website:

Are there new regulations regarding a driver's body mass index (BMI), body fat ratio, weight, neck size and sleep apnea? (link)
Despite rumors to the contrary, no. While research was recently released stating that a driver's body mass index (BMI) is a risk factor for identifying sleep apnea, neither the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) nor the Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program currently has any rules that restrict who can be a commercial motor vehicle driver based on BMI or weight, or neck size.lostNfound and halfburn Thank this.
