Actually, if you spent as much time researching the actual manufacturing output of the US compared to the rest of the world as you do listening to common myths, you would realize that the US is still the largest manufacturing country in the world. Yep, that's right. Check it out for yourself. The stats are out there for all to see. Sure, China is rapidly moving up on us, but they haven't gotten there yet. And you seem to forget that we are still the largest exporter in the world in agricultural products. And we are still quite competetive in exporting of many other products as well. You are basing your opinions on what you have heard from others and what you see at Walmart.

Sure, there has been a lot of manufacturing that has left the US, but we are still have the largest manufacturing base of any nation. That is just cold, hard fact. I wouldn't have believed it myself, since I am subject to the same misconceptions about China, Mexico, etc as everyone else. After I did a little checking though, I found out that these ideas that we have lost most or all of our manufacturing is just plain nonsense.

Sure, mega plants are fewer, but there is far more smaller manufacturing operations than ever before. You might call it "streamlining". Instead of one corporation having city sized manufacturing facilities, they decided to concentrate on what they do best and have other smaller facilities manufacture what they need. That way each entity can concentrate on what it does best. But, nonetheless, we still have the largest manufacturing base in the world.

It would be much larger, for sure, if Government would get out of the way and allow business' to expand and do what they do, instead of imposing more and more regulation that causes stagnation.

And you expect the IBT to do what for you ??? After bashing us and crossing our picket lines for years ???And now you want us to come to the rescue ??? For what ? so you can continue to undermine us ?? Good luck with that.

I agree. They are to busy paying out union dues to dims to further limit hrs of service and snatch the food out of the mouths of the children of the OTR trucker. While they fill their coffers with taxpayer stimulus money.

Went through Page AZ a few years back on highway 89 and stopped at a Gas Station there saw an interesting T- shirt with the words " Fighting terrorism since 1499" probably the most acurate bit of information i've seen for ages.
