just completed my mentor training with my mentor, he was great by the way. I want to ask the forum, since I am new, is this acceptable to expect from a company like Swift
1. Getting a $99.96 dollar paycheck, being paid for only 1 load when I have completed 4 loads as of now.
2. Constantly challenging my DM's (yes, plural, there are 6 of them) to keep abreast of my situation with my recent breakdown (as of today, yesterday and since 5.28)
3. Re-explaining to the DM's, why my truck broke down, explaining to them what the mechanic says, explaining the whole break down situation so I can get a hotel room.
4. Absolutely careless, out of touch with reality, DM's with 2nd grade grammar - which you have to read qualcomm messages twice to decipher what they are saying.
5. Comdata rejection at Flying J/Pilots because it's not a 'designated' gas stop.
6. Arguing over 'When' Breakdown pay starts. Since truck is not activated 'shop status' your breakdown pay is not activated either. So you can be sitting in the terminal for 2 days to enter 'Shop' status, then be credited breakdown pay. I have to argue with my DM over this.

Welcome to trucking! You are a now twuk dwiva! Isn't that what you wanted?
-
How did I know you'd be the first one to post? Especially since the title is Swift and the forum it's in.
-
Because I have telepathic energy & send my brain waves in your direction!
dog-c Thanks this. -
wow it must not take much to work for swift.

Completed loads can take awhile to catch up with you, considering cut-off days etc. (keep ALL paperwork copies). Explaining everything 2,3 or 4 times could be normal. Mispelled words on the QC is normal. Dispatch is doing many things at once, they don't have time to "proof read". BTW, drivers calling in when they could be using the QC really uses up their time. I never called in on the phone. I had a trailer stolen from my house, I reported it VIA the QC ! I quit the company, VIA the QC ! Use the QC. Dispatchers have 50 drivers to deal with, right ? Plus boo-coo other duties, so don't pester them with phone calls.

I am wondering how much some of these drivers are getting paid a week. Swift is on the back burner but how much I might make will make a difference.

As long as you're having fun who cares how much you make ?

The bill collectors.

1. Wednesday at midnight is the cut-off for the pay period. If you don't have your trips scanned in before then, they will end up being paid the following payday (a week from the next Tuesday).
Once you can get on Accelerated Pay status you will not have that problem.
5. You can fuel at designated fuel stops only. Your card is authorized for only that stop, and no other.
If you run low before you can get to your fuel stop, just send a QC asking for a closer fuel stop.dog-c Thanks this.
