Do not know how much the shop charges. They will not touch my truck because of the warranty. I know that I had a repair done at KW, under warranty, and I had to have a part shipped to me overnight, and Swift charged me a $30 mark up fee. Have yet to find out why. Shipping was $55. My charge out of my maintenance account, $88.

The $30 mark up fee is what Swift charges to open an RO#. They do that as soon as you take your truck into the prequal lane. IT's just a away for them to make money off them. If you do not feel that it was a fair charge, call Rapid Response and have it removed.

As far as them not touching the truck cus of warranty, I think that was due to the mechanic not wanting to do the work. A friend of mine just had to have a repair made on his new truck (less than 2,000 miles on it) the shop did the repair and charged him nothing. Even told him to call Rapid Response and tell them that he was not to be charged the $30 for the RO#.

Thanks. It must just be different terminals. Before I got this truck I had another one, Check Engine Light, and Menesha would not even put it on the computer to see what was wrong. Asked them why, and was told, it is Warranty work. When the problem started with this KW, OnRoad told me to take to KW, due to warranty

I did not know about that up charge. I guess that when have a PM, not going to call OnRoad to open a work order.

The shop will automatically open a RO# WO# when you bring it in for a PM. The other thing to watch out for is if you have to call on-road due to a flat tire on the trailer, they will do the $30 charge, but again, call Rapid Response and it should come off. After all, the trailer is not yours it's Swifts.

Why would they even charge it? Just trying to hose the LO's?

The $30 only applies if you use off road. It is the carrying charge for Swift handling the billing from the shop/dealer doing the work. You will also get the Swift discounts going this route.

The $30 does not apply when getting work done a Swift terminals.

    scottied67 Thanks this.

1 year in? Wanna stay OTR? I would be elsewhere as a company driver making better money.

    My $.02 :biggrin_25525:

You missed what I asked. If you want to stay OTR there is many places that pay better. The road wasn't for me. I am doing 12-14 hr days and home everyday. 5 days a week.

If I wanted to stay OTR I would have left at 6 months.
