From what i understand companies need 10 years verifiable employment. At least 2 of the companies i have worked for in the last ten years no longer exist. I worked for a service station as a mechanic for 3 years, the owner has long since retired and sold the place. How is an employer supposed to verify that. I also worked for another company that went under and now something else is in that building. Obviously i cant provide phone numbers or contact info for those places. Is that going to hurt me? Also i cant remember exact dates for those employers.
verifiable employment.

Any chance you still have paystubs or tax forms from both jobs? Alot of employer will accept either, some would rather have W-2's.

only if you were driving is it that 10 years is required--if they were nondriving jobs--it is only 3 years

Ok thanks. Last 3 years were repairing and operating railroad equipment so no problems there.
