I came by your Forum when googling DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) and thought I would stop by to answer any questions you may have. Have loved trucks since being a little girl, riding in my Brother's cab once mother trusted him, and then started my working life accompanying truck drivers as they delivered my precious cargo across Europe. Nowadays, I work with a DEF producer, so still get to be part of the Trucking world! I head off to Truckfests at the weekends to keep up with today's models and help show my father in law's vintage Foden and old Case tractors at Classic rallies. Old or new - each has a place in the World!

    Hello and welcome!

I bet you have some scary stories, crossing European borders. I have a neighbor who used to run England to Spain, and when at the French ports or Lille would not stop at all in case anyone climbed in under the trailer. He tells me that its not safe even to stop at a red light in the towns, he would just keep moving slowly, and tried to do the crossing in daylight whenever he could.
The fines for being caught with an illegal stowed in your wheels are pretty huge I believe?
And the driver gets fined, not the company?

There is a European forum here too, go to the main menu and scroll down almost to the bottom, you will find all the international forums there.

    Where are you based now?

Hello Mrs T - thanks for the welcome! Luckily I was only ever on the outbound journey; once delivered my boys went on elsewhere for a backhaul - so I never got to experience the stowaways as I came straighthome. It is an extra pressure on them - but as all places though, there's those that take advantage.

I'm based in UK at the moment, so thanks for heads up on the EU forum. Its coming up to early evening - so I'd better close out and go make the old man's dinner:biggrin_2559:

    Hello again!

I'm in England right now too, for a few months, although we are based in the US.
    (Long story, dont go there!!)

This is a great forum, go find the Ladies Room too, there are a lot of truckers wives yapping there, and a few of the guys wander in too.
    Does your hubby drive?

Hope you are enjoying the UK! No, my chap doesn't drive. He's of the very, very small 4 wheel type..... classic Mini's.

    Classic minis?

I remember them, always makes me think of the classic movie "The Italian Job".

    the original, not the remake!
