I hope you aren't going to Smith-Solomon there in Philly...
But what does your post on air system checks have to do with Knight?
Knight Transportation is a ship of fools!

Think about it Ronin. Knight - Air tests - Knight is full of hot air - and other stuff. . .
ronin and Rollover the Original Thank this. -
Ahh, but it came from a STUDENT??!! That was something I'd expect from an old hand - I'm impressed.
Rollover the Original and Big Don Thank this. -
I just did the math. In the 11 month sentence I was serving at Knight Refrigerated, I was gone from home 300 days. My GROSS wages were $38,079.
To put that in perspective for the mathematically challenged, I made about $125 a day. If my AVERAGE day was 12 hours long, I made $10.41/hour BEFORE TAXES!!!
Hardly appropriate for a "professional"!!!
Perhaps if I were paid FOR ALL MY ON DUTY TIME, it would have been better.
Oh well. Firing me was the best thing Knight ever did for me!!!ronin Thanks this. -
Knight did not fire me. I gave them two weeks notice, and turned the tractor in at the Denver terminal per my dispatcher's request. In fact, I left them on such good terms, (as far as they were concerned,) that they kept bugging me to come back to them. For at least a year and a half. . .

But since I had NOT lost my mind, (at that time anyhow, I think it is gone by now,) and since hell had not yet frozen over, I decided to pass up their offers. . .
ronin Thanks this. -

Hey, that's about TWICE what my wife and I got paid at England...
-
Ouch! That freaking hurt!
I've got to ask. In your tag line where was that dock or who was it? I've been to just about every place there and it sounds familiar! -
Wow, Knight must have really did a 180. I left June 09 after 1 Year and 10 Months out of the Fairview, OR terminal. I enjoyed my time there, never had too much issues with miles, pay or anything like that and even when I got that wild hair up my A-Double S to go East and get stuck there, they did it!
My only real gripe was dealing with the Phoenix after hours people, they reminded me of pushy used car salesmen at a used car lot that has a F for a BBB rating. The only thing missing was the thick Eastern European accent saying "No problem, my cousin. He can fix" -
I don't remember the name of the place, but it's a very small Jewish (Hacidic) dairy/grocery warehouse, across the street from a Fedex 2-dock place... on 49th Place, right off Grand Ave.
