Take look at JBS.....noone will pay as much as us after training.......training pay is 300 a week....1 on 1 training you do 100% of the driving with your trainer in the jump seat...all the other companys you drive as a team and the trainer is asleep most of the time...look at our thread ....

Of the 3 you mentioned, I would recommend(IMHO) in this order..Schneider, Swift. No, I did not make an error and forget one. Schneiders training is awesome. Swift takes a lot of heat, but I see more happy drivers there recently and things seem to be changing within the company. The trainer can make things difficult regardless of the company you choose.

Shave your head, new growth will be clean. Most companies don't test hair as it costs too much.

I'm not going to suggest a company. I will suggest you might look at each company and see what they have to offer after the initial training/mentor assuming they hire you and all goes well, Will you stick to dry vans only? Will you remain a driver or go for a desk? Do you have a goal? To me, 6 months is not enough time to learn much, the initiation/learning process lasts years or perhaps never stops.

$300.00 a week? I believe the company's mentioned, and others, as a company driver, pay per loaded/empty mile. Unless the average speed is say 25 mph, it's fairly easy to drive 450 to 500 miles a day (cpm) provided the loads are available and you accept.

down time for what ever reason, inspections, cleaning, drop n hook, waiting to get loaded / unloaded, multiple stops, safety pay, bonus's, benefits etc. is another ball game

Try Prime Inc., I think they are better than CR England and Werner. If you have your CDL look into flatbed companies. They usually train and you start out with a higher cpm.

    dca, thanks for the feedback.
Yeah I realize it will be an ever on going learning process as most careers are. I just figure it will take me 6 mos. to get acclamaited to the initial new job environment and get a read on what some of the basic tricks of the trade are, ie trainers, dispatchers and so on. As far as my goals. Once I get my finger on the pulse of doing things, I plan on doing it till I "tip over". To me, once I get "rolling". I plan to pull whatever I can where ever I can just as fast and efficiently as I can. Pretty much no desk for me. Once again, thanks for the feedback.

Werner training pay is $350 gross,,$298 takehome. They have a driving school reimbursement program,so once a month you get $100 extra in the check. Also a $500 bonus for going straight through training with no break for the trainee. Those onboard computers suck though as they monitor you. My son got canned for a hard braking readout from the "spybot"during a test. Now he can't get hired anywhere as a driver.

Stay away from Werner Dallas the truck assignment process is horrible you could be waiting for weeks to get a truck after you finish training.
