No I usually just send a message saying I need $45 for a wash and they send it to me.

I go into the Beacon to find out how much that particular one charges (they aren't all the same), then send a Mac28 with the price and they add it to my card. I've requested $60 before and got it with no problem. You do need to do it during the day when your dm is in because afterhours wont approve it. After your wash, just submit the receipt with your bills and they will reimburse you.

As far as sweeping trailers out, I don't get bent too out of shape over it when I need to sweep one out. If you are picking one up from a shipper location, you actually have a 50/50 chance that the mess is not left by the driver, but rather by the shipper after they unloaded it. Are you gonna go in and complain that they left the trailer a mess? Sweeping the trailers is just part of the job. For the ones who won't sweep their trailers before they drop them, karma will come around and they will pick one up in the same condition so they will have to sweep a trailer anyway. Count on it.

What really p!$$es me off is when someone drops a trailer with a physical mechanical problem, such as a blown tire or missing mudflap. If I drop a trailer with such a problem, or if it's been rejected due to a hole in the roof but they still allow me to drop it (it has happened), then I will send a message to breakdown letting them know that a trailer at this location has a problem and needs repaired.

I thought of this thread several times yesterday and this morning while under load. And I'll admit it was with great joy that I Tcalled that load of metal at the Gary terminal. :biggrin_2554:

What I hate, unload at the receiver, and they leave it a mess, then you are reloading, like in another portion of the same building, and then you have to sweep out the mess that they created, and it is the same customer.

I was picking up a load that had been T-called at Lancaster. The load had come from Washington state . The driver left it with 2 flat tires and 3 lights not working. It was a light load, less than 20,000 lbs, but I still had to wait nearly 4 hours while Father Time fixed everything before I could take it to Tyler Target. My question is how long did this driver go without the lights and how far on the 2 flats?

Oh boy flat tires? I would say about 2 out of ten trailers I pick up need something fixed. But I would be a little upset if I had to wait in line to get a trailer fixed that someone dropped..

Heading to Texas from Las Vegas so maybe I will run into ya down there.
